On Sunday, 31st July, we launched a 'School Shoe Project', lasting two weeks. We wanted to help as many children as we could in the lead up to the start of the Autumn term.
Nine children in every UK classroom live in poverty. Some of these children won't have school shoes to wear in September.
Our aim was to buy 350 pairs, but we ended up with much more, thanks to all of you!
- 103 new pairs of shoes bought from our Amazon wishlist
- enough financial donations to buy another 146 pairs
- donations from a kind company to buy 250 pairs
- second-hand donations - TBC
So, that brings us to a grand total of 499 pairs - at least! The shoes will be distributed to the children who need them by Sal's Shoes, a charity we're working with.
Thank you to everyone, this is going to make a huge difference for so many children.
