Kerr has his chair!
June 24, 2025 | Latest News
We’re so happy to share that Kerr now has the specialist powerchair he needs to play the sport he loves — powerchair football.
Kerr has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. His mum, Alyson, said: “When he discovered powerchair football, he finally found a sport where he wasn’t the odd one out, where he can fully take part and actually be good at it — and his confidence has soared.”But to progress in the sport, Kerr needed a proper football chair, which costs over £13,000. Over the years, Kerr’s mum and dad have worked tirelessly raising funds for muscular dystrophy charities - Alyson has even won an award for their incredible efforts. We wanted to take some pressure off them and do something to help Kerr.
The family had raised £3,000 toward the chair and we hoped we might be able to help them hit their target.
Thanks to the support of Provide SESS LTD , the amazing Brighton College Prep Kensington community, and countless individual supporters who donated and shared words of encouragement, we did it. Kerr’s dream to have his very own football powerchair has come true.
We also want to thank everyone who supported the small wishlist we set up for Kerr and his big brother, who's been a brilliant support to him throughout.
Your kindness has made such a difference. Thank you.
