#552 Ben

Request: Donations / Gifts / Kind messages

This week, we’d like to help a 16-year-old boy called Ben, who was physically attacked by his mum’s partner and is no longer allowed in her home.

Ben now lives with his dad and has no contact with his mum. He is struggling with his mental health while also trying to support his dad, who has a painful condition that causes his joints to dislocate.

His dad’s condition has become worse and he hasn’t been able to work for most of the past year.

They are struggling to afford the basics. Ben doesn’t have many warm clothes and hasn’t been able to get the things he needs for college, including a laptop so he can do some college work at home.

His dad has been selling the tools he used for work to help pay for the things they need. He is now getting support to claim disability benefits, but the process has been complicated and taken longer than expected.

Ben's dad is a veteran, and an Armed Forces charity has helped them with furniture and appliances to make their home liveable, but Ben in particular could do with some extra help.

We’d like to provide Ben with warm clothes, a laptop for college and a bike so he can get there independently. We’d also like to give him some fishing equipment we know he’d love, as well as food, a Christmas tree and presents. Ben's dad could also do with a more comfortable mattress to help reduce his pain. We'd like to help.
