#540 Zarah

This week, we'd like to help a 5-year-old girl called Zarah, who has terminal ovarian cancer, and her family.

Zarah was diagnosed when she was two and then had two years of treatment. For a little while her cancer went into remission, but it returned last year.

Since then, Zarah has spent much of her time in hospital while doctors tried different treatments to reduce the tumours and to manage her symptoms. Sadly, there are no more treatment options available so Zarah is now on a palliative care plan.

Recently, Zarah's health has deteriorated - she can't eat solid food and needs oxygen to help her breathe. She lives with constant pain.

She lives with her mum and her two younger sisters. Her mum is caring for all three children on her own after leaving an abusive relationship, and they live on a very low income. It has been an incredibly tough few years.

Zarah and her family were nominated by their support worker. She has arranged a short holiday in the UK in the hope that the family can make some special memories together, but Zarah isn't well enough to go now. So the support worker asked if we could help with some play equipment for the garden and some toys, to help entertain the children during the summer holidays.

We’d like to do much more than that. We’d like to take some financial pressure off their mum, and make this summer as comfortable and joyful for Zarah and her siblings as we possibly can.

Your donation will help with the garden games and toys they’ve asked for, as well as bills, everyday essentials, and anything else that brings Zarah and her siblings comfort or joy.
