This week, we'd like to help an 11-year-old girl who is sleeping on an inflatable air bed after a fire damaged her bedroom.

She lives with her mum (Leah), her step-dad and her little brother. Leah and her partner both work on zero-hour contracts. Leah also has a serious bladder condition and uses a permanent catheter. One of her kidneys has been losing function, so she’s been having to travel to London regularly for specialist treatment. It means they’ve had to spend all the spare money they have on travel and accommodation.

About 2 months ago, there was a fire in one of the bedrooms. It was contained by firefighters but there was severe smoke and water damage. A lot of the children’s things had to be thrown away and two of the bedrooms need new flooring as well. They rent their home and didn’t have contents insurance.

We'd love to provide a bed and mattress for the 11 year old daughter, and proper flooring for all the bedrooms as well if we can. We'd also like to provide some other things for their home, like a tumble dryer, to make Leah’s life a little bit easier during her treatment.
