This week, we'd like to help a mum called Cece and her two children, aged 14 and 8.
Cece and her children lived with domestic abuse for years and, when they eventually left, the ordeal wasn't over. The police heavily were involved due to stalking, and they had to be moved between various different temporary accommodation for a long time to keep them safe.
Cece has sole custody of her children and it has been really overwhelming going through all of this by herself. She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and a personality disorder and became so unwell at one point that she spent time in a mental health recovery unit.
They moved into a permanent home last year, but it was bare and badly maintained. During the winter, Cece was stuffing material into holes in the front door to try to keep them all warm. Their utility bills were through the roof, and they were relying on food banks.
Cece and her children were nominated by their social worker, who went to visit them recently and was concerned by the lack of furniture in the home. Cece has done her best, decorating where she can and gradually buying things when she's able, but she can't afford everything at once. She's managed to finish most of her younger child's bedroom, but her older child is still living without flooring or storage.
We want to give Cece some help to make it into a proper home for them all.
Your donations will help to pay for things such as flooring for one child’s bedroom, some storage furniture and bedding, curtains, desks for the children, a TV, a vacuum cleaner, small kitchen appliances and some grocery vouchers.
