Life #51

Request: A gardener to donate their time / contributions to pay for a gardener / and vouchers to buy plants

This week, 52 Lives would like to help a 29 year old woman from Shropshire, UK.

This woman is a single mum. She has a 13 year old son, who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder eight years ago.

She hasn't had an easy time, but is working so hard to give her son the best life she can. She is in her second year of a sociology degree at university, and is undertaking a counselling course as well. She is also a volunteer for her local Home Start organisation.

She was nominated by her mum, who said she has watched her transform from a young mum who was quite negative and faced with a very challenging life, to a positive, determined woman who is optimistic about the future - all with very little support.

Sometimes spreading kindness isn't just about helping people who are down or those facing tragic circumstances. Sometimes it's just about doing something unexpected for someone very much deserving of a bit of support.

Request:

Gardening - This young mum's garden is in need of work - she has never has the time or extra money to do the things she would like. We would like to surprise her by doing a mini garden makeover for her ... kind of like 60 Minute Makeover (minus Peter Andre, the TV crew or the big budget). It would be a brilliant surprise for her, and would create a wonderful space for her and her son to enjoy this summer.

- If you are a gardener, or know of a gardener, who would be willing to donate some time to help, please let me know (we can provide photographs of the current garden if that helps)

- If you would like to contribute to the cost of a gardener /or a voucher for plants, please let me know.
