This week, we'd like to help hundreds of toddlers and babies who will soon be in need of warm clothes (I know it's only September, but the cold weather is coming and we need to get ready now).
We'd love your help to stock a special free 'shop' run for homeless woman with children under 5. It's run by The Magpie Project in Newham. Many of the families they help are staying in temporary accommodation - often sharing tiny hostel rooms, and staying warm will be a real challenge once the colder months arrive. These children need coats even more than most - their families don't have cars to jump into when it is raining, and they often find themselves walking to save on the bus fare.
The shop will open in October, so we are trying to gather coats and pramsuits now to make there's enough for every child who comes through the doors. There are over 300 children aged under 5 being supported, and we'd love to provide as many as we can with a warm coat or pramsuit.
We've created a wishlist filled with the items needed, and any donations will also go towards buying more. You can also send in good quality second-hand coats and pramsuits if you have them (details below)
(These photos are some of the children you helped keep warm in previous years - thank you for making such a difference!)
