This week, we’re helping children living in poverty to get ready for secondary school.
Starting secondary school is a big milestone. But along with the excitement comes a long shopping list - new uniform, scientific calculators, pens, notebooks, maths sets…it often adds up to hundreds of pounds.
For families already struggling, that list can be impossible and, too often, it means children start school without the things they need (around 1 in 6 secondary school pupils have missed school at least once because they didn't have something they needed*).
We'd like to help. We've set up a wishlist with some stationery and other equipment they need, and will use your donations to buy more.
Through our networks of small charities, school uniform banks and social workers, we will make sure these items go straight into the hands of the children who need them.
