This week, we’d like to help Dania and her husband, who sadly lost their youngest daughter a few weeks ago. It was a month before her second birthday.
She had been living with Mitochondrial disease since she was a baby, which caused her many serious health difficulties and disabilities, including blindness.
Dania was her full-time carer and spent a lot of time in hospitals and hospices with her. This put a lot of strain on the family, both financially and emotionally, and has left mum struggling with her mental health. Since her daughter passed away, she finds it hard to leave the house, but being at home is also painful for her.
Dania’s husband usually works in a café, but he took time off in the final weeks of his little girl’s life, and now he needs to be at home now to support Dania and their other children.
With the loss of his income and their carer’s benefits stopping, it has put them under a lot of financial strain.
We’d like to do something to help this family. We’d like to pay for some bills and groceries to take a bit of pressure off for a few months, and we’d also like to buy some outdoor play equipment for the children to keep them occupied and give their mum a bit of a rest.
They have also been wanting to create a little space in their garden with a tree in memory of their sister, which we’d also like to pay for.
