#396 School Shoe Appeal

Request: School Shoes / Donations

Last year, we ran a special school shoe appeal to buy shoes for 350 children. You ended up helping us to buy shoes for more than 500!

So this year, we have set the target a little higher. We are aiming to buy school shoes for 600 children who otherwise won’t have properly-fitting shoes to wear when they start school in September.

Things are very tough for so many families at the moment… 9 children in every UK classroom live in poverty. And if we can help in some small way, we’d like to. A pair of school shoes doesn’t just help financially, it also helps children's self-esteem and wellbeing...this picture shows the state of some of the school shoes we'll be replacing.

The shoes will be distributed to the children who need them by a charity we are working with called Sal’s Shoes.

What We Need

Make a donation: 100% of what you give will be used to buy school shoes. You can donate online or by text using the details below.
Buy a pair of school shoes from our Amazon wishlist: We've set up an Amazon list filled with school shoes - click the link below and then choose the shoes you'd like to buy. They will be sent directly to our charity partner Sal's Shoes to give to a child who needs them (just tick 'this is a gift' and choose the 'gift registry address' at checkout).
Buy a pair of school shoes from Shoe Zone online: Shoe Zone has some good value school shoes, which are not available via our normal Amazon wishlist system. To buy a pair of school shoes from Shoe Zone, just click below to visit the school shoe section on their website, select a pair of schools shoes (we need a range of children's and teen sizes so feel free to choose any size you wish!) and have them delivered to: Sal's Shoes (52 Lives project), Easistore, Enterprise Way, Edenbridge, TN8 6HF.
Donate good quality second-hand school shoes: Lots of children’s school shoes are outgrown before they are outworn, so we’d love to make use of them! You can send your second-hand school shoes to: Sal's Shoes, Easistore, Enterprise Way, Edenbridge, TN8 6HF (Please include a little note mentioning 52 Lives when you send them, as we are keeping a tally of how many shoes our community provides). You can also drop them off at various places - click here to find out where. Shoes should be clean and rubber-banded in pairs please.
