#388 Logan

Request: Donations / Gifts / Kind messages

This week, we’d like to help a 14 year old boy called Logan who has started having severe night-time seizures.

Logan has a diagnosis of autism and also has a learning disability and sensory issues. Since Covid, Logan has developed extreme anxiety and it’s been a struggle for his parents to get him to leave the house. He is over 6ft tall and can become extremely aggressive, so it's hard to keep him safe. He has also been self-harming and is non-verbal, which makes it more difficult for him to communicate his needs.

Logan recently started having tonic clonic seizures and his parents are worried about him having one in the night. Last time he had a night-time seizure, his mum (fortunately) heard him and went in to find him not breathing properly and turning blue.

He was nominated by the family’s social worker who said Logan’s parents have been wanting to buy an epilepsy alarm for him, but haven’t been able to afford it and haven't been able to find support to buy one.

We’d like to provide Logan with an epilepsy alarm, which would alert his parents if he was having a seizure. We’d also like to provide an epilepsy pillow to help keep him safe. We've also set up a wishlist with some other sensory items and bedding that he needs.

What We Need

1. Donations: Your donations will be used to provide an epilepsy alarm, pillow and anything else that's needed. 100% of what you give will be used to help Logan and his family.

2. Gifts from a wishlist: We've set up a wishlist with sensory items plus a few other things for Logan. To buy a gift from the wishlist, please click the link below. You will be taken to Amazon where you can choose an item that will be sent directly to the family (just tick 'this is a gift' and choose the gift registry address when you check out).

3. Kind messages: To send a kind message for Logan and his family, please write it in the form below or post it to: 52 Lives (388), PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT.

What We Did

Thanks to all of you, Logan now has an epilepsy alarm and pillow, new bedding, lots of sensory items, new clothes and some other medical equipment he needed.

His mum said: “We would like to express our deepest thanks to your supporters in a really difficult time in our lives. The support and kindness we have been shown by complete strangers has been nothing short of amazing. We are finally able to sleep at night without panic. Thank you so much!”
