#387 Ann and Michael

Request: Donations / Gifts / Kind Messages

This week, we’d like to help a couple called Ann and Michael, and their children.

They are living in a property that is too small for them - four children all share a bedroom but don’t have enough beds, so they take it in turns to sleep on a sofa in the living room.

Ann and Michael have been struggling for money for years but it has gotten a lot harder in recent months. Michel is a self-employed farm worker and sadly injured his leg very badly. He will need surgery and won’t be able to work for a while which is going to put them in extreme financial hardship.

They were nominated by a support worker who said the children’s sleep is being affected by the living conditions and the whole family’s mental health is at rock bottom.

Ann and her support worker have been scouring donation sites for furniture for a long time, but nothing suitable has come up. We’d like to provide the children with beds that fit in the space they have, as well as mattresses and new bedding.

What We Need

1. Donations: Your donations will be used to help to buy suitable furniture for the children, and anything else they need. 100% of what you give will be used to help them.

2. Gifts: We've set up a wishlist with some of the bedding and smaller items the family needs. To buy a gift from the wishlist, please click the link below. You will be taken to Amazon where you can choose an item that will be sent directly to the family (just tick 'this is a gift' and choose the gift registry address when you check out).

3. Kind messages: To send a kind message for the family, please write it in the form below, or post it to: 52 Lives (387), PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT.

What We Did

Thanks to all of you, we were able to provide beds, mattresses and bedding for all of the children, chests of drawers so they have somewhere to keep their clothes, as well as some clothes and food vouchers and lots of kind messages from all of you.

Thank you for helping us to do this for them.
