Request: Donations / Gifts / Kind Messages

This week, we’d like to help a man called Steven, who just separated from his partner after having a stroke and a heart attack.

Steven’s health needs have sadly placed a lot of strain on family life, and his relationship with his partner has broken down.

Steven was nominated by his Supporting Families Employment Adviser. She said Steven has been feeling like no-one wants him and he has been having thoughts about harming himself. He can’t walk, so finding somewhere to live has also been a struggle.

Fortunately, they have managed to help Steven find somewhere that is all on one floor, and he is hoping to move in this week. But the property has concrete floors and he has no furniture. He and his partner have agreed to share custody of the children, but unless his home has flooring and beds, it’s going to be very difficult for the children to stay with him.

With your help, we’d like to carpet the home and also provide some essential items so the children can come to stay.

What We Need

1. Donations: We will use your donations to buy carpet and some of the bigger items needed. 100% of what you give will be used to help Steven and his children.

2. Gifts from a wishlist: We've set up a wishlist with some bedding and smaller items he needs. To buy a gift from the wishlist, please click the link below. You'll be taken to Amazon, where you can choose an items from the list which will be sent directly to Steven (just tick 'this is a gift' and select the 'gift registry address' when you check out).

3. Kind messages: To send a kind message to Steven, you can either write it in the form below and we will pass it along (your contact details will not be shared) or you can post it to: 52 Lives (Steven), PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT.

What We Did

This is just one of the many, many thank you messages Steven has sent us over the past few weeks. Thanks to your donations, we were able to carpet his home, buy him a fridge and cooker plus vouchers for food so he could stock the new fridge! You also bought bedding, towels and toys for his children. You have not only given him a home, you have made it possible for his children to come and stay with him. You well and truly changed his life. Thank you all so much.
