#351 School Shoes

Request: Donations / Shoes from a wishlist / Second hand shoes

Can you send a pair of shoes for a child we're helping?

We're running a School Shoe Project over the next couple of weeks to help as many children as we can in the lead up to the new school term.

We read a worrying statistic recently...nine children in every UK classroom are living in poverty. It means some of these children will not have any school shoes to wear when the new term starts in September. We'd like to do what we can to make sure they do.

Our aim during the next two weeks is to provide school shoes for 350 children. We have managed to buy 250 pairs already, with some funds donated by a kind company, but we still need 100 more so we would love your help. The shoes will be distributed to the children who need them by a charity we are working with called Sal’s Shoes.

There are 3 ways you can help...see below.

How You Can Help

  1. Make a donation: 100% of what you give will be used to buy school shoes. You can donate online or by text using the details below.
  2. Buy a pair of school shoes from our wishlist: We've set up an Amazon list filled with shoes - click the link below and then choose the shoes you'd like to buy. They will be sent directly to our charity partner Sal's Shoes to give to a child who needs them (just tick 'this is a gift' and choose the 'gift registry address' at checkout).
  3. Donate good quality second-hand school shoes: Lots of children’s school shoes are outgrown before they are outworn, so we’d love to make use of them! You can send your second-hand school shoes to: Sal's Shoes, Easistore, Enterprise Way, Edenbridge, TN8 6HF (Please include a little note mentioning 52 Lives when you send them, as we are keeping a tally of how many shoes our community provides). You can also drop them off at various places - click here to find out where. Shoes should be clean and rubber-banded in pairs please.
