#337 Two children

Request: Donations / Gifts / Messages

This week, we’d like to help a family of 4 from Worcestershire. The dad had an accident several years ago, which crushed his leg. After many operations, he was still in a great deal of pain and not able to walk, so recently had to have his leg amputated.

He isn’t able to work, his wife is a carer for her elderly mother and they have two young children, so it has been an incredibly tough few years.

They were nominated by a support worker at the children’s school. She said: “Everything that’s happened has massively impacted on the family - emotionally, financially, and physically. A teacher overheard one of the children talking to her friend. She told them that she would love a holiday, but they haven't been on holiday for years due to Dad's leg and having no money. We would love to try to get the family to have a holiday in an accessible caravan or cottage somewhere.”

“They are such a lovely family and so deserving of kindness.”

With your help, we’d love to do this for them.

What We Need

1. Donations: We'll use your donation to send this family on a holiday, somewhere accessible for their dad. Any funds we raise above what is needed will be used to help them in other ways. You can donate online or by text using the details below.

2. Gifts from a wishlist: The family  insisted they didn't want to ask for anything, but we would love to send the children a few toys and gifts. So we've set up a small wishlist with some things we think they would like. To buy a gift, please click the link below. Select the 'gift registry address' at checkout.

3. Kind messages: To send a kind message to the family, please post it to: 52 Lives (Life # 337), PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT. You can also email a message by writing it in the form below (your contact details will not be passed on).

What We Did

We did it - they are going on a beach holiday this summer! We raised more than £1500 and received SO many wonderful offers for them - thank you to all of our supporters who got in touch. As well as the holiday, we will also be able to fund some activities and meals for them while they’re away. You also sent the children some crafts and toys, and so many kind messages.

Thank you for doing this for them.
