#324 Vera

Request: Donations / gifts / messages

This week, we’d like to help a teenage mum called Vera, who has been asked to leave her parent’s home.

Vera is 19 and has a 1 year old baby boy. Her baby’s dad doesn't provide financial support, and her relationship with her mum and dad has completely broken down. They asked her to leave, and she had nowhere to go. It was a really scary time for her, but a homeless charity has managed to help her and her baby find somewhere to live.

The homeless charity support worker said: “Vera is trying to find a job, and wants to create a better life for her and her baby. She has been able to take her bedroom furniture from her parent's house, but doesn’t have anything else. She really needs help.”

With your support, we’d like to give them the best possible start. As well as furniture and things for her baby, we'd also like to buy Vera a laptop and a printer to help with her job-hunting.

What We Need

1. Donations:  100% of your donations will be used to help Vera and her baby. You can donate online or by text using the details below (the maximum that can be donated by text is £20).

2. Gifts from a wishlist: We've set up a wishlist with lots of the smaller things Vera needs for her home. To buy a gift from the wishlist, please click the link below. Your gift will be sent directly to Vera (just tick 'this is a gift' and select 'gift registry address' at checkout).

3. New home cards / kind messages: We'd love to send them to kind messages and new home cards. To send a message by email, just write it in the form below and we will pass it along (your contact details will not be shared), or you can post a card or message to: 52 Lives (Life # 324), PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT.

What We Did

Thank to you all of you, every item was bought from the wishlist and we also raised almost £2000! We’ve been able to buy her and her baby everything they need to get set up in their new home. We were also able to pay a little bit of rent to get her in front and some grocery vouchers to make things a bit easier while she looks for a job. Thank you all so much for doing this for them.

The donations, gifts and messages have given her and her baby a strong start in their new life, and helped her feel less alone.
