#318 Family from Bristol

Request: Donations / Wishlist / Messages

This week, we’d like to help a family from Bristol, who have a terminally ill child.

Their daughter is 7 years old and has a degenerative, terminal illness. She has been in intensive care for the last month.

Her mum is pregnant and has been having some complications. She is also caring for their other two children, so the dad has been at the hospital - day and night - for weeks.

He usually works for the NHS, but has had to take a lot of time off. As a result, they are under a lot of financial strain and haven’t been able to cover their rent or bills this month. It's causing him so much worry, at a time when he really just needs to focus on his family.

With your help, we’d like to cover their rent and bills for the next few months.

WHAT WE NEED

1. Donations: 100% of  your donation will be used to help pay for rent, bills, food and anything else the family needs. To donate online or by text, please use the links and details below.

2. Christmas presents: We asked their support worker to find out what they would like for Christmas, and have set up a wishlist filled with gifts and toys for the whole family. To buy a gift from the wishlist, please click the link below. Your gift will be sent directly to the family (just tick 'this is a gift' and choose the 'gift registry address' at checkout). Once the gifts are all bought, we will add some gift cards to help them buy things for the new baby.

3. Kind messages: This family is going through the worst of times, and we'd love to send them some kind messages to let them know they're not alone. To send a message, please post it to: 52 Lives (Life 318), PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT. Or you can email a message by writing it in the form below (your contact details will not be shared).

WHAT WE DID

Thanks to all of you, this week we have not only paid their rent arrears, but also covered the next 8 weeks of rent, council tax and utilities. We’ll be able to send them grocery vouchers every week until at least the end of the year, and you also bought all the gifts from their Christmas wishlist.

Thank you all so much for making this awful time a little bit easier for them. (This is part of a message we received from their support worker.)
