This week, we’d like to help a single mum and her two boys who are grieving and in need of some kindness.
Fiona was in an abusive relationship with the boy’s father, and her youngest unfortunately witnessed everything that happened. The children were put into care temporarily. Fiona left her partner and did everything she needed to do to regain custody of her boys, and they started over again on their own.
Fiona was pregnant and, earlier this month, she gave birth to a baby girl, who was sadly stillborn. She is out of hospital now and back home, and they are preparing for the baby’s funeral next week.
The boys are devastated about the loss of their baby sister, and they’re worried about their mum. Their school is arranging for them to have bereavement counselling, and trying to give their mum as much support as they can.
They were nominated by the family support officer at the school, who is very concerned about the family. She said: “Fiona has come such a long way as a mum and is making sure her boys are safe. It has been a real struggle for them all, and the boys in particular are in need of some kindness."
We’d like to help.
