This week, we’d like to do something for a mum and her two children in need of help. Her housing support worker said she is ‘at desperation point.’
She left a violent relationship with nowhere to go after years of physical, sexual and emotional abuse. It has taken a huge toll on her physical and mental health. She was hospitalised with severe infections and has struggled to deal with everything that’s happened.
One of her children has disabilities and has high care needs. The disruption has been tough on him, and Winnie wants to do everything she can to create a safe, stable home.
For more than a year, Winnie and the children have been staying with friends in an overcrowded flat. They have finally managed to secure permanent accommodation and are moving in this week. But they have almost nothing. And on top of their financial worries, Winnie also still lives in fear of her ex-partner finding them. This is so much for one person to deal with, and we’d like to help.
Winnie’s support worker is working with multiple agencies to try get her the support she needs – but what is needed right now is help to create a new home for her and the children.
