#233 Emma

Request: Donations / Gifts / Messages

This week we’d like to help a single mum called Emma, who recently lost her partner and is now on her own with 2 small children.

Emma’s partner sadly died on Christmas Day, after developing an infection post-surgery. She is now all on her own with an 8 month old baby girl and a 2 year old daughter.

After her partner died, Emma was forced to leave their home, so her and the children have just moved into a council house in a new area. The support worker who nominated Emma is concerned that the house has a bare concrete floor, which isn't at all suitable for a baby and a toddler. But Emma can’t afford to pay for carpet.

Emma is grieving and alone, and we would love to do something kind for her and her children. With your help, we would like to get some carpet fitted in their house. We’d also like to buy curtains, garden toys...and all of the other things they need to help make this new house feel like home.

What We Need

1. Donations: Your donations will be used to buy carpet. If we raise more than is needed for the carpet, any additional donations will be used to buy curtains and anything else they need. 100% of your donation will be used to help this family. To make a donation, please click the 'Donate' button below.

2. Gifts from an Amazon wishlist: We have set up an Amazon wishlist filled with some small items for the house, and toys and gifts for the girls. To buy a gift from the wishlist, please click the link below. Your gift will be sent directly to the family.

3. Kind messages: We'd love to send Emma some kind messages to let her know she's not alone. To send a message by email, please write it in the form below (your contact details will not be passed on) or  if you would like to post a message, please send it to 52 Lives (Life # 233), PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT, UK.

What We Did

We raised more than £3000 in donations and goods for Emma and her children. It means that as well as carpet, we were also able to provide a cooker, furniture, curtains, and clothes for the children. Thank you all so much for doing this for them .

"I just wanted to say thank you to everybody for what you have done for me and the children. It is amazing and so much appreciated."
