This week, we would like to help a family from Leicester who are going through an absolutely heartbreaking time.

Kathy and Manish have a three year old daughter called Kitty, and Kathy is 4 months pregnant with their 2nd child. Manish hasn’t been feeling very well, and has recently undergone a series of tests which have revealed that he has advanced bowel cancer. He has been told it is incurable.

Manish is about to start chemo in the hope of giving him as long as possible with his wife, daughter and new baby, which is due in October.

Manish and Kathy both usually work in an adult intensive care unit but neither is able to work at the moment - Manish is undergoing his treatment and Kathy is at home helping to care for him.

A friend of theirs originally contacted us asking if we could help with some minor house renovations they needed (fitted wardrobes taken out and some replastering work) which we were about to ask for help with. Then Kathy got in touch this week to say that a friend has kindly offered to do a lot of the work, and they suggested that we should help another family this week instead. As lovely and selfless as their email was, we think Kathy and Manish are very much deserving of help and we want to do something kind for them.

With your help, we want to finish the room renovations for them, and also buy the things they will need for their baby,
