We read about 6 year old James, from Minyama, Australia, in the newspaper. In January, he was diagnosed with a high grade Glioma (brain tumour) and was given at most 6 months to live.
His parent’s, Deborah and Paul, were told the tumour was inoperable. Unwilling to accept this, they sent his scans all over the world, desperate to find a surgeon that could help their son.
World-renowned Sydney neurosurgeon Charlie Teo took the case and in February operated on James to remove a large portion of the tumour, giving him a fighting chance. James is due to start radiation therapy and chemotherapy next week.
The local community have united to help raise funds towards the family’s medical bills, which will be in excess of $90,000.
